The EBF is seeking to recruit at a full time position, a policy adviser who will be responsible for building consensus and developing policy, designing and delivering
lobbying strategy, and coordinating members’ actions. Working with and lobbying the European institutions to achieve an appropriate regulatory and supervisory
framework in the EU.

DETAILED RESPONSABILITIES
Within EBF Banking Supervision team, specific focus on “political” (as opposed to “technical”) dimension of banking supervision files. In that context, under the EBF
Banking Supervision Committee (BSC), key responsibilities are:
• Developing Banking Supervision Committee’s work programme and focus including management of Secretariat of:
o Task Force on the Future of Banking Supervision;
o Large Exposures Working Group;
o Deposit Guarantee Schemes Working Group;
o Crisis Intervention Working Group.
o Setting-up and managing ad hoc working groups where needed.
• Drafting and delivery of positions on:
o specific EU legislations (esp. Capital Requirements Directive; draft Regulations on European Supervisory Authorities) and their implementation;
o consultations of the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) and Basel Committee on Banking Supervision;
o the European Commission’s forward agenda on banking supervision & crisis management.
• Ongoing direct contact with the European Commission, the European Parliament, national financial attachés and the CEBS’ Secretariat.
Maintaining the EBF relationship with institutions as “partner of choice” in consultations.
• Delivering EBF positions to the IBFed Basel Working Group and European Banking Industry Committee (EBIC) Supervisory Practices Working Group.
• Ensuring constant information flow to members.
• Providing written and oral briefings for EBF management, Executive Committee and EBF Board.
• Writing of speech & presentations for EBF management and making presentations on relevant issues.
• Representing EBF in various roundtables and industry networks such as European Parliament Financial Services Forum (EPFSF), EBIC, Bruegel, Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS)…
• Contributing to the EBF Newsletter and other EBF publications on banking supervision.

PROFILE

The successful cand

idate will have at least 2 years relevant experience in the banking supervision issues and (preferably also in) EU public affairs.
In addition, the candidate should:
• hold a university degree;
• be fluent in English – written and spoken (other languages an asset);
• possess excellent drafting and influencing skills;
• demonstrate strategic and analytical thinking skills;
• have strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure;
• be able to work on politically sensitive subjects and to generate agreement among members with diverse interests.

ORGANISATION STRUCTURE
The person reports to the Head of Wholesale & Regulatory Affairs Department.
This person would work in close collaboration with the secretary of the Banking Supervision Committee, and other colleagues within the Secretariat.
